In the stillness of Portland’s cold, early mornings, we found ourselves searching—not just for jobs, but for a way to rewrite our story. The weight of unemployment pressed heavily on us as we walked through the quiet streets, hoping for a break, an opportunity. Yet, no matter how disheartening the journey seemed, we clung to a steadfast belief: God never abandons us.

It was during this time of uncertainty that I met Rose V. She wasn’t just a beacon of light; she became my partner, my strength, and my inspiration. Her unwavering belief in us reminded me of the wisdom my mother often shared:
"One may be overpowered, but two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken."
Together, we formed that unbreakable cord, bound by love, faith, and a shared dream of creating something meaningful.

Our lives changed forever in December 2023, when our son, Gabriel T, was born. In the frigid streets of Portland, amidst the challenges we faced, he became our greatest blessing. Holding him in our arms for the first time, we felt a surge of purpose like never before. His arrival ignited a spark within us to build a legacy—a future not only for him but for families like ours. And so, JUNUNA was born.

The name JUNUNA, meaning "bee" in the Wayuu language, reflects our roots and values. The Wayuu people, an indigenous community from Colombia, hold a deep connection to nature, resilience, and togetherness. Like the bee, their culture symbolizes diligence, harmony, and the beauty of collective effort. These principles guide everything we create, from the thoughtful designs of our baby products to the care and intention we pour into our work.
